Crafty Us

A month ago we started two new projects.  My Grandparent's gave us some fun furniture to redo.
First was a highchair that was my Grandma's brothers.  Its over 80 years old.  Carter was in love with this from the second he saw it.

We still need to find a pad for our little girl to sit on.

Our next project was a rocking chair that was my Grandpa's Aunts.  This rocking chair is probably 100 years old.  I didn't take before pictures and I don't know why.  Here is the finished product.
Our fun owl stencil

Loving chevron fabric right now!
We have lots of fun refinishing all our projects!

Cruisin' Time

Link
For graduation Carter decided to take me on a cruise!! We took a wonderful 4 night vacation to MEXICO!! The first night was a huge storm and Carter was so sick. I ended up eating dinner with 6 strangers... It got better after that!
The first stop was in Catalina. This island was beautiful. This picture is on the little boat that took us from the cruise ship to the island.

On Catalina we walked around, shopped, and played in the sun. We were walking around the pier and this HUGE pelican landed right next to us.
I was really nervous

Sorry i dont know how to change the direction of the pictures :D

This was the Wrigley gum owners memorial. It was a hike to reach through a botanical garden (mostly desert plants no flowers.)

The view from the hike to the monument and our only picture together...

Catalina harbor

The next stop was Ensenada Mexico. We hitched a ride out to La Buffadora (the blow hole) and flea market. This is one of three blow holes in the world. The flea market was my favorite part. I love shopping and seeing real Mexico. We also got to see some whales while here which i have never seen before.

On the bus ride out we enjoyed some real cultural music from this man.

This was a great vacation and i love Carter for taking me :D

Graduation

As many of you know i had 5 big board tests to take for my license as a Dental Hygienist.
The bulk of them landed on Easter weekend. To start the long couple of days off we started with our Anesthesia written exam. This was a crazy hard test but I passed :D If you pass the written part then you are able to move on and take the clinical part. Carter was lucky enough to be my patient!! Because he is a great husband he let me give him some injections. This test is scary because you have 2 examiners huddled over you as you do the injections. I was lucky and did my first two right and did not have to repeat any of them. What a relief to have my anesthesia out of the way and passed!! The next day was my biggest test and most stressful that i had to find the right patient for that hadn't had their teeth cleaned in a LONG LONG TIME. We had to submit a certain amount of calculus (build up) and we had 2 hours to clean it.
We had to wait 3 weeks for these results. This would determine if I was able to get a license or not! What a stressful couple of weeks! BUT I PASSED. I have never b
een happier!!

Then came graduation
In health care fields you have a pinning ce
remony that symbolizes the welcoming of you into the medical world. Carter pinned me because he was such a huge help for me getting thru this program.

Graduation was the next day. Our speaker was President Thomas S. Monson. What a great way to celebrate graduation by having such a motivational man speak to us!
Our caps with teeth :D

Spring Breakin'

Although spring break started off a little slow. With UDA (dental convention) in Salt Lake and taking another big test for my license. It ended with an awesome weekend in St Geezy with my sisters, brother-in-law, and syd's best friend. What a fun week!!

The crew came down on wed this week to start off syd's birthday extravaganza! While everyone was here carter decided that he needed to show off to everyone and prove that he is awesome. There is a "sky light" hole in the wall between our bed room and the living room. Since we moved in Carter has been talking about "conquering" this. So with the audience here he decided to try.

Syd's birthday was Sat. We had a party once it hit midnight! We came in with candles on cupcakes and sang to her. Opened her presents and partied till 2 am. If you don't believe me look the the clock in the picture below. We took that to prove we had the best party ever.

We spent her b-day in VEGAS!! What fun! We went shopping at all the malls down there. We ate dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Ceaser's palace where we saw the biggest sting ray in their aquarium.
The birthday girl :D
To make the day even better. When we were leaving the hotel we went out the valet parking door. Chelcee came up to me and said hurry look at that guy he is someone famous. We turned and saw the "HOTTEST" guy....MARIO LOPEZ. Syd and Tia chased him down and got a pic with him. Syd kept saying that he smelt AMAZING! Hope you had a great birthday best friend :D

A moment to relax

I just received my national written boards results in the mail! I PASSED! This test was a big deal. Tons and tons of hours were spent studying. We even had to pay $350 for a review class and book to study out of. I made hundreds of flash cards to aid in my studies and spent many sleepless nights trying to remember everything we had learned in the past two years of school! After 5 1/2 hours of test taking and two weeks of waiting for the results I know that all the studying and lack of sleep was worth it!

What a relief for this moment to know that I have one of my big tests out of the way. One step closer to having my Dental Hygiene License! For a moment I am able to relax. But only a moment because there are more to come. I have 5 more big tests left before I can truly relax. I have one test next week, three over easter weekend (anesthesia which is both clinical and written and national clinical) , and the last one is a week after graduation (expanded functions).
